Cheese Tortilla Bowl

The perfect cheese tortilla bowl recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the bowl:

  • 1 Pc. Tortillas

For the meat:

  • 60 ml Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 200 g Steak

For the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • 2 Pc. Garlic cloves
  • 2 Pc. Chilli green
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 240 ml Milk
  • 400 g Cheddar cheese
  • Tortilla chips
  • 1 Pc. Tomato
  • 70 gr Guacamole
  • 1 tbsp Sour cream
  • Coriander

For the bowl:

  1. Place the tortilla on an upturned bowl of about the same size. Press a second bowl, the same size as the first, onto the tortilla so that it is wedged between the bowls.
  2. Bake at 200 degrees for 15 minutes.

For the meat:

  1. Add the spices to the oil and stir well.
  2. Turn the meat well and leave to marinate for one hour.
  3. Remove the meat from the marinade and sear it on both sides. Cut into slices and set aside.

For the sauce:

  1. Dice the onion, green chilli and the garlic cloves.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the diced vegetables.
  3. Pour the flour on top, let it brown while stirring and rinse with the milk.
  4. Let everything simmer until the flour and milk have combined to form a thick mass.
  5. Melt the cheddar in the mixture while stirring.
  6. Place the tortilla chips on a plate, place the tortilla bowl on top and fill with the sauce.
  7. Place the pieces of meat, a tomato cut into pieces, the guacamole, the sour cream and a few leaves of coriander on top.
