Cheeseburger Bombs for brunch and picnic

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 50 g bacon, diced
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 roll(s) of pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp, heaped mustard
  • 1 tbsp, heaped ketchup
  • some tomatoes, dried in oil or pickled pepper strips
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 4 tbsp cheese, grated e.g. mozzarella
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 gherkin(s), sliced
  • some sesame seeds for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Fry the diced bacon in a nonstick pan without any additional fat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion and season with pepper and salt. Fry until crumbly, then transfer to a bowl. Add the mustard and ketchup, along with the pepper strips or tomatoes and egg, and mix thoroughly. Spread the grated cheese in small mounds on the rolled-out pizza dough and top each with a portion of ground beef. To make the filling, cut out circles from the dough using a glass or cookie cutter. Form the filled circles into balls, then brush them with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the balls at 170°C for 20 minutes.
