Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simple but tasty side dish

Tear the white bread into pieces and place in a bowl. Pour the milk and then 100 ml of water over it and let it soak for about 20 minutes. Then add the eggs, flour and spices and knead to form a soft, slightly sticky dough. Add a little more water or milk if necessary. Mix in the cheese cubes or grated cheese. Heat plenty of oil in a non-stick pan and fry 1 tablespoon of batter at a time in the form of cakes until golden brown on both sides. Depending on the cheese used, the cakes can taste mild to spicy. You can also serve them with a dip, such as tomato dip, aioli or light cream dip, depending on your preference.
