Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g cherries
  • 200 g onion(s)
  • 100 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 200 g brown cane sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • e.g. chili pepper(s)
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Wash the cherries, pit them, and cut them into small pieces. Peel and finely chop the onions. Bring the cherries and onions to a boil with vinegar, sugar, salt, coriander, pepper, bay leaves, and possibly the chili pepper. Cook for about 20 minutes, until the sauce thickens. While still hot, pour the chutney into jars and pour a little oil into each jar to seal the chutney. Seal the jars tightly. Store in a cool, dark place for at least 8 months.
