Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 125 g ground almonds
  • 2 jars of morello cherries (720 ml each)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 250 g flour
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 150 g butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Grease for the tray
  • possibly chocolate, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

baked from almond batter

Whisk the fat until fluffy, then stir in the sugar and vanilla sugar. Gradually whisk in the eggs. Mix the flour, baking powder, and almonds and fold in. Grease a baking sheet and spread the batter on it. Sprinkle the batter with breadcrumbs and scatter the well-drained morello cherries on top. Crumble the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and fat into crumbs and sprinkle over the cherries. Bake at 175°C for about 45 minutes. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar. As a variation, you can also add chocolate chips to the batter. Or you can pour the batter into a springform pan; this will make the base a little higher, but the baking time will be correspondingly longer.
