Chestnut Mashed Potatoes

The perfect chestnut mashed potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 700 g Potatoes
  • 400 g Chestnuts
  • Vegetable broth
  • 1 Shot Milk
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg
  1. Cut the chestnuts cross-shaped with a sharp knife and simmer in salted water for about 10 minutes.
  2. Peel and chop the potatoes and cook them in the vegetable stock.
  3. Drain the chestnuts, remove the skin, add to the drained potatoes and season everything with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  4. Add the milk and butter, use a potato masher to form a coarse puree and serve.
  5. I served the chestnut mashed potatoes with meatballs and a mushroom sauce.
