Chia Gel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 ml water
  • 5 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 minute; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 46 minutes

Basic recipe, vegan

Pour the water into a screw-top jar and add the chia seeds. Stir well. Stir occasionally for the next 30-45 minutes to prevent the chia seeds from clumping together. Continue processing or refrigerate. It will keep for at least 1 to 1.5 weeks. It can also be used as an egg substitute in cakes, cookies, crispbread, in bread recipes, in muesli, in desserts, and in savory dishes. You can make chia pudding with milk (including plant-based milk). The quantities are approximate. The gel should become nice and slimy. Add more seeds or water if necessary.
