Chicken heart ragout

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g heart(s), (chicken hearts) frozen
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 tsp, heaped broth (chicken or vegetable broth), instant
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 large garlic clove(s), squeezed or finely diced
  • 1 cup water
  • Fat, for frying
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Thaw the chicken hearts, rinse thoroughly with cold water, and pat dry. Then, dice the onion and fry until translucent. Add the chicken hearts and fry for about 5-10 minutes. Deglaze with the water and stir in the instant broth and tomato paste. Season with pepper and add the garlic. Let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes over low heat. This goes well with noodles or rice.
