Chicken in mushroom and ginger sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg chicken, diced
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 500 g mushrooms, brown
  • 300 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp ginger, freshly grated
  • 20 shallots, sliced
  • 150 g natural yogurt
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Heat oil in a pan. Coat the meat in flour and brown all over for about 4 minutes. Transfer to a saucepan and keep warm. Sauté the shallots and mushrooms in the pan juices. Add chicken stock, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and ginger, and season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 150°C. Pour the mixture over the meat and cook, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours. Add the yogurt and cook for another 10 minutes. Serve with rice.
