Low-carb

To make the chicory taste less bitter, I remove as much of the stalk as possible and halve it from the tip towards the stalk so that the bitter substances don’t spread throughout the chicory. I then place the halved chicory in warm water to further extract the bitter substances. The onion is finely diced and sautéed in butter along with the ham. Then I add the chicory, which I have just cut into bite-sized pieces. Heat everything over medium heat until it reaches the desired firmness. Now the cream cheese is added to the pan and melts in the heat. The dish is now ready! You can add pepper or other spices to taste. Salt is not necessary, as the dish is already salted by the ham. This recipe is well suited to a low-carb diet.
