Chinese Cabbage Wok with Sesame and Rice
The perfect chinese cabbage wok with sesame and rice recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Cooking rice:
- 200 g Basmati rice
- 1 tsp Salt
- 400 ml Water
Chinese cabbage wok with sesame:
- 600 g Chinese cabbage
- 400 g Turkey mini steaks
- 200 g Soybean sprouts
- 1 Large onion approx. 100 g
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 0,5 Red chilli pepper
- 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 400 ml Chicken broth (2 teaspoons instant)
- 2 tbsp Sweet soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
- 2 big pinches Colorful pepper from the mill
- 1 tbsp Tapioca starch
Serve:
- Coriander leaves or basil for garnish
Cooking rice:
- Cook basmati rice (200 g) in salt water (400 ml / 1 teaspoon salt) for about 20 minutes. See my recipe Cooking Rice: Cooking Rice
Chinese cabbage wok with sesame:
- Clean the cabbage, divide the leaves and cut into diamonds. Wash turkey mini steaks, pat dry with kitchen paper and cut into strips. Wash the soybean seedlings, drain them well and, if necessary, read them out. Peel the onion and cut into wedges. Peel and finely dice the garlic clove cubes. Clean, wash and finely dice the chilli pepper. Toast the sesame seeds in a small pan without oil. Warning: can burn quickly! Heat the oil (2 tbsp) in the wok, fry the turkey strips vigorously / stir-fry and slide them to the edge of the wok. One after the other, add the vegetables (onion wedges, diced garlic cloves, diced chili peppers, Chinese cabbage and bean sprouts) and stir-fry everything. Deglaze / pour in the chicken broth (400 ml / 2 teaspoons instant), season with sweet soy sauce (2 tbsp), dark soy sauce (2 tbsp), light soy sauce 2 tbsp) and colored pepper from the mill (2 big pinches) and season everything for approx Let simmer for 4 – 5 minutes. Mix the tapioca starch (1 tbsp) in a little cold water, stir into the wok, bring to the boil and as soon as the liquid thickens, remove the wok from the stove. Finally sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds.
Serve:
- Portion rice onto the plates with a cup that you rinse in cold water beforehand, add the Chinese cabbage wok with sesame seeds and garnish with basil.
