Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 250 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 5 eggs
- 200 g chocolate, whole milk
- 1 cup(s) Baileys Irish Cream
- 200 g flour
- 100 g cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 100 g almond(s), chopped
- Cake icing, chocolate
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Melt the chocolate and add it along with the Baileys. Sift the flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and baking powder and stir into the batter along with the chopped almonds. Pour the mixture into a greased ring or bundt cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for about 60-70 minutes (test with a toothpick). Remove the cake from the oven after baking and let it cool slightly in the pan, then turn it out onto a wire rack. Once completely cool, cover with chocolate glaze or dust with powdered sugar.
