Chocolate Cake with Mandarins
The perfect chocolate cake with mandarins recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the sponge dough
- 4 Eggs
- 4 tbsp Hot water
- 175 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 150 g Flour
- 50 g Food starch
- 2 Tl Baking powder
For the filling
- 2 Cans Tangerine
- 12 size Chocolate kisses
- 250 g Quark
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 25 g Sugar
- 150 g Sour cream
- 500 g Whipped cream
- 3 packet Cream stiffener
- Beat eggs and water with a hand mixer until frothy. Mix sugar with vanilla sugar. Gradually stir in. Beat another 2 minutes. Add flour, cornstarch and baking powder and stir in briefly. Put the dough in the greased springform pan and bake at 180 ° C for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the cake base cool down. Then cut the bottom once horizontally.
- For the filling, drain the mandarins well. Set aside some mandarins for the garnish. Spread the remaining mandarins on the lower base.
- Separate the waffles from the chocolate kisses, cut in half or quarter and set aside for garnish. Mix the foam mixture with the quark, lemon juice, sugar and sour cream. Whip the cream with the cream stabilizer and fold into the quark mixture.
- Spread two thirds of the quark mixture on the mandarins and place the top base on top. Spread the rest of the cream on the surface and edge. Put the cake in the fridge for an hour.
- Cut the cake into 16 pieces and decorate.
