Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 100 g chocolate, dark
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 ½ tbsp cornstarch (cornflour)
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 500 ml milk
- 150 ml cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Break the chocolate into small pieces and place it and the sugar in a bowl. Set the bowls aside. Add the cornstarch and vanilla sugar to the pan. Pour in about 1 dl of milk and mix everything thoroughly. Pour in the remaining milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. When it boils, stir for another minute. The cream will thicken. Remove the pan from the heat. Add the chocolate and sugar to the hot cream. Stir until well melted. Pour the cream into the bowl. When it’s no longer steaming, cover and refrigerate. Whip the cream until stiff, then stir the cold cream again thoroughly. Carefully mix in about half of the cream with a rubber spatula. Tip: The pear hedgehog… You can make cute little hedgehogs with canned pears, roasted almond slivers for the spikes, and cloves for the eyes. For the chocolate hedgehogs, you can use ready-made cake icing and cover them with it. It’s a great side dish to the cream!
