Chocolate macaroons

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g almonds, ground
  • 100 g dark chocolate, finely ground
  • 4 egg whites
  • 30 wafers
  • 200 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then add the sugar and continue beating for 10 minutes. Fold in the ground chocolate and almonds. Pipe the mixture onto the wafers or directly onto a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15 minutes on the middle rack. Tip: I always make a double batch, but skip one egg white. Don’t overbake the macarons, or they’ll become bitter.
