Chocolate macaroons

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g dark chocolate coating
  • 100 g nuts (e.g. hazelnuts or walnuts)
  • 4 egg whites
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 100 g nougat

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 38 minutes

with chopped nuts

Chop the chocolate and nuts. Beat the egg whites with vanilla sugar, sugar, and cinnamon until stiff. Fold in the chocolate and nuts. Using teaspoons, place approximately 90 macarons onto baking sheets lined with baking paper. Bake at 180°C (convection oven) for approximately 8-10 minutes. Melt the nougat, spread or dip the underside of one half of the macarons with nougat, and place a macaron on top. Refrigerate until the nougat is firm. The macarons will keep for several weeks in tins.
