You don’t have to be a professional chef to make a simple chocolate parfait. With our recipe, you will not only surprise your guests in terms of taste but also visually.

Chocolate parfait: You need this for the icy dessert

Our quantities give a dessert for six people.

  • Of course, chocolate belongs in a chocolate parfait. If you also want to offer your guests something visually, use three different varieties. So have ready 70 g each of dark, whole milk, and white chocolate.
  • You will also need 500 g of cream and a pinch of salt.
  • For the ice cream dessert, you need four egg yolks.
  • Finally, weigh out 50g of powdered sugar.

This is how the layered chocolate parfait succeeds

The different types of chocolate create a nice layering of different colors.

  1. First, chop the individual types of chocolate roughly into small pieces and then let the chocolate melt separately in a hot water bath.
  2. Meanwhile, whip the cream with a pinch of salt until stiff and place in the fridge.
  3. Mix the egg yolks with the icing sugar to a creamy mass. This is best done with a hand mixer.
  4. In the next step, carefully fold the cream into the mixture. Then divide it into three equal parts.
  5. Put the white chocolate under one part, the milk chocolate in the next, and the dark chocolate in the rest.
  6. Line a loaf tin with cling film and first fill in the mass with the white chocolate.
  7. Put the mold in the freezer for half an hour.
  8. If the mass is a bit frozen, the layer with the whole milk chocolate follows. Then put the mold in the freezer for another half hour.
  9. Now comes the last layer, the dark chocolate. Once you have filled them in, cover the parfait with cling film and place it in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
  10. When the dessert is frozen, take the parfait out of the pan and remove the foil.
  11. Once you have cut the dessert, you can decorate it. Chocolate shavings or fresh fruit, for example, are suitable for this.
