Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 60 g butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar, fine
  • 50 g chocolate shavings (chocolate drops)
  • 150 ml milk
  • Grease for the tray

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

They are best served warm and fresh

Lightly grease a baking sheet. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl and add the butter in small pieces. Rub in with your fingers until a crumbly dough forms. Add the sugar and chocolate shavings. Gradually add enough milk to form a soft dough. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 2.5 cm thick (10 x 15 cm) and cut this into 9 squares. Place the rolls on the baking sheet, leaving enough space between them. Brush with a little milk and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 10-12 minutes, until the rolls have risen and are golden brown on top. Tip: The rolls taste best served fresh from the oven. Cut the hot rolls open and spread with a little hazelnut spread or a spoonful of whipped cream. Variation: Use grated dark, milk, or white chocolate. Cut out the scones using a round cutter (about 5 cm in diameter).
