Ingredients for 9 servings:

  • 225 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 60 g butter, cold
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 50 g chocolate decoration (chocolate drops)
  • 150 ml milk

a delicious variation of scones for chocoholics

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add the butter in small pieces and rub with your fingers until a crumbly dough forms. Add the sugar and chocolate chips and mix with the milk until a smooth dough forms (a spoon works best). Roll out on a lightly floured surface into a 12 cm x 12 cm square (approx. 25 mm thick) and cut into 9 squares. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, leaving enough space between each square, brush with milk, and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and beautifully risen.
