Ingredients for 18 servings:

  • 50 g margarine
  • 125 g brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 125 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 125 g sour cream, alternatively sour cream and crème fraîche mixed in equal parts
  • 125 g chocolate (dark chocolate)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (granulated sugar)
  • 150 g sour cream
  • 100 g chocolate (dark chocolate), sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

tempting chocolate muffins

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line 18 muffin tins with paper baking cups, or place 36 cups nested inside each other on two baking sheets. Mix the margarine, sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda, and cocoa powder until smooth. Stir in the sour cream with a spoon. Pour the batter into the muffin tins and bake for about 20 minutes. Then let cool on a wire rack. Meanwhile, for the topping, melt the chocolate in a double boiler, let cool briefly, then stir in the sugar and sour cream. Spread onto the muffins and let set in the refrigerator before serving. Garnish the muffins with the chocolate shavings.
