Party recipe
Melt the butter in the microwave or frying pan. Meanwhile, peel and finely dice or press the garlic. Place the garlic and melted butter in a small bowl and set aside to cool. Peel and dice the onion. Add the diced onion and bacon to a non-stick pan and sauté until translucent. The bacon shouldn’t be completely cooked through. Transfer both to a bowl and let cool slightly. Halve the rolls and spread them with the butter/garlic mixture. Tip: A layer of tomato paste beforehand prevents the rolls from absorbing the fat from the bacon. Mix the grated cheese with the diced onion and bacon. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and perhaps a little paprika/chili powder. Spread the mixture evenly over the rolls. Bake in a hot oven at approximately 200°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 12-15 minutes. Follow the instructions for the rolls. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Tip: The bacon cubes can easily be replaced with smoked tofu cubes, making the dish vegetarian.
