Christmas Cake: Walnut Buttercream
The perfect christmas cake: walnut buttercream recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Dough:
- 4 Pc. Protein
- 1 Pr Salt
- 150 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 4 Pc. Egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 150 g Sifted flour
- 200 g Walnuts, ground
Butter cream :
- 1 liter Milk
- 1 packet Custard powder
- 3 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 packet Bourbon vanilla sugar
- 250 g Butter
- 2 tablespoon Advocaat
Decorate:
- 50 g Mixed nuts, roasted
- 1 Pc. Cranberries from the glass
- 50 g White chocolate, grated
Dough:
- Beat the egg whites with salt until stiff. Slowly stir in sugar, sprinkle with vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
- Fold in the egg yolks.
- Fold in the flour and nuts. Bake at 200 ° C for approx. 15 minutes.
Butter cream :
- Cook a pudding from milk, sugar, vanilla sugar + pudding powder, cover with foil.
- Take the butter out of the fridge, when the cake + pudding has cooled down, beat the butter. Slowly stir in the custard. Now work in the egg liqueur.
- Put some of the cream in a piping bag. Cut the cake in half.
- 1. Brush the bottom with cranberries, then buttercream.
- 2. Lay the bottom on the edge with buttercream. Apply cream on top.
- Roast mixed nuts, let cool.
- Decorate the cake on top, sprinkle the nuts on top. Decorate the edge with white chocolate.
