Christmas Cookies with Orange, Nut and Chocolate

The perfect christmas cookies with orange, nut and chocolate recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 220 g Spelled flour, type 630
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 20 g Cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 100 g Ground hazelnuts
  • 125 g Brown sugar
  • 1 Pc. Organic orange
  • 125 g Soft butter
  • 1 Pc. Egg
  • Icing sugar for dusting
  1. Wash the orange with hot water, rub dry and rub the peel. Mix the flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, salt, ground nuts, brown sugar and orange peel in a bowl.
  1. Add the egg and butter in pieces. Knead everything quickly into a smooth dough. Can be done with your hands as well as with the dough hook of the hand mixer. Wrap the dough in foil and put it in the fridge for about 1 hour.
  1. Then roll out the dough about 0.5 cm thick on a floured work surface. Cut out cookies with arbitrary molds (I used stars with a diameter of 5 cm) and place them next to each other on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  1. Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees (or fan oven 160 degrees) on the middle rack for about 10 – 12 minutes. Take out, place on a wire rack with the baking paper and let cool down.
  1. Dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar.
