Christmas Hussar Hat

The perfect christmas hussar hat recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 150 g Soft butter
  • 75 g Sugar brown
  • 1 packet Vanilla
  • 3 Piece Egg yolks, fresh
  • 125 g Flour
  • 1 pinch Ground cardamom
  • 75 g Oatmeal, tender
  • 100 g Cherry jam
  1. Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and egg yolks until creamy. Add the flour with the cardamom and the oatmeal. Stir very thoroughly. From it 2 rolls of 4 cm each. Shape the diameter and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the jam well and strain it through a sieve. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  3. Cut the dough rolls into approx. 1 cm thick slices and shape them into balls. Place these on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to make a depression in the center of each ball. Bake in the preheated oven for about 13 minutes.
  4. Remove the tray, pour the jam into the indentations and let cool down completely.
