Christmas mulled cherry jam

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 2 jars of sour cherries
  • 500 g gelling sugar 2:1
  • 3 mulled wine bags
  • 1 pack of bourbon vanilla flavor (e.g. Dr. Oetker Finesse)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Empty the two jars of sour cherries into a saucepan and bring to a boil briefly. Simmer the mulled wine bags for 10 minutes. Remove the bags, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and a packet of vanilla extract, and stir everything together. Stir in the gelling sugar and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes. Test for set. If it sets, pour the hot jam into boiled jars and seal them immediately.
