How to clean and cut cauliflower
First, you should gather everything you need. This includes the cauliflower, a cutting board, and a sharp knife.
- Now start cleaning the cauliflower. This means that you first get rid of its large, outer leaves.
- The best way to do this is to make small incisions at the lower end of the stem with a knife and then tear off the leaves with your hands.
- Then you should cut off the stem end and the leaf base. To do this, we recommend turning the cauliflower upside down so that you can reach the bottom easily.
- When all this is done, you can proceed with the process.
- You can now cut the cauliflower florets from the stalk. This works on the same principle as with broccoli.
- If you like, you can either leave the cauliflower in florets or cut them into slices. Simply take a floret and cut it into slices starting from the stem.
- Another variant that is particularly interesting for low-carb diets is cauliflower rice. To do this, use a knife to cut off very fine grains from the florets. You can then cook these grains like normal cauliflower and have a delicious rice substitute.
