Ingredients for 16 servings:

  • 150 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200 g sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 75 ml cola
  • 75 ml buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ bottle of butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 100 g nuts (pecan nuts)
  • 50 g butter
  • 400 g powdered sugar
  • 100 ml cola

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

For the batter, combine the flour and baking powder, sift into a mixing bowl, add the remaining ingredients, and mix with the whisk attachment on a hand mixer for 2 minutes until a smooth batter forms. Place a 20 x 20 cm baking rim on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, pour in the batter, and smooth it out. Bake at 180 degrees (preheated) for 20-30 minutes. Remove the rim and paper, place the cake on a wire rack, and immediately prepare the icing. For the icing, bring the butter, cocoa powder, and Coca-Cola to a boil, reduce briefly, remove the pan from the heat, and stir in the icing sugar. Pour the hot icing onto the warm cake and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
