Cod fillet with chips crust

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 shallots
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 1 tbsp flour (wheat flour)
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 2 tbsp herbs (dill, parsley, tarragon), chopped
  • 4 slice(s) fish fillet(s) (cod, 150 g each)
  • 8 medium-sized boiled potatoes
  • 5 tbsp white wine
  • 60 g chips (potato chips)
  • Salt and pepper, freshly ground
  • Mustard
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and dice the shallots. Mix the butter, mustard, flour, capers, and herbs thoroughly. Rinse the fish fillets under cold running water, pat dry, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Peel the potatoes, slice them, and place them in a greased, shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and drizzle with white wine. Place the fish fillets on top and spread with the butter and onion mixture. Roughly crumble the potato chips and spread them over the mixture. Place the dish on the oven rack. Cook in the oven at approximately 180°C (preheated) for approximately 25 minutes.
