Things to know about coffee consumption
Coffee consists largely of water. However, you should not drink the hot drink like water, as the caffeine affects people.
- A cup of coffee has a beneficial effect for most people: concentration increases and sometimes coffee can even relieve headaches.
- However, large amounts of caffeine also have some side effects. Insomnia, restlessness and gastrointestinal complaints can occur with excessive consumption.
- The European Food Safety Authority therefore recommends a maximum of 200 milligrams of caffeine per single dose and 400 milligrams per day.
