simple and delicious side dish for grilling

Clean and quarter the white cabbage. I leave the stalk on and finely grate the cabbage with a cabbage slicer, right down to the stalk. This way, even the last bit doesn’t fall apart, and I don’t have to worry about my fingers getting hurt. Place the shredded white cabbage in a bowl with the salt, sugar, pepper, and a little ground caraway. Knead the cabbage vigorously with your hands. Add the vinegar and oil to the cabbage. Peel the apples whole, grate them around the core, and mix in. The salad tastes great straight away, but I like to let it marinate in the fridge.
