Coleslaw with Sophisticated Dressing
The perfect coleslaw with sophisticated dressing recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 400 g Fresh white cabbage
- 100 g Carrots
- 50 ml White wine vinegar
- 1 el Sugar
- 1 el Flour
- 1 el Mustard
- 1 tl Salt
- 1 tl Pepper from the grinder
- 100 ml Cream
- 2 Sting Butter
- 1 great Egg
- Clean the white cabbage, generously remove the stalk and then slice the cabbage into fine strips. Clean, peel and finely grate the carrot. Put everything in a suitable bowl and mix well. Season a little with pepper.
- For the dressing, briefly bring the white wine vinegar to the boil together with the sugar, salt and mustard, then stir in the flour quickly and immediately add the cream and butter and stir well so that there are no lumps and remove from the stove just before “boiling again” . Now add the egg while stirring and stir until the egg starts to bind. Season again to taste, possibly adding some mustard. The dressing can have a strong taste.
- Now fold the dressing into the cabbage / carrot mixture and mix everything well. The lettuce should be covered for a good 4 hours in a cool place, mix the whole thing again from time to time.
- It tastes delicious with anything grilled, on burgers or simply with snacks and stays in the fridge for a good week, if at all.
