Avoid mistakes when eating avocados
Most people don’t wash avocados before eating them. This is a mistake because even though you don’t eat the peel, the bacteria and toxins on the peel can get into the fruit during cooking. This is how the superfood becomes a health risk.
- The skin of avocados is uneven, with bumps and craters where toxins, germs, and bacteria can collect.
- When you cut the avocado, many of these tiny particles can get into the flesh. This can make consumption dangerous.
- Therefore, wash the avocado thoroughly before slicing it. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also spray the fruit with a mixture of 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
- Leave the mixture on the skin for about ten minutes and then wash the avocado thoroughly under running water.
