Freeze croissants: how to proceed

For many people, croissants bought from the bakery or homemade are part of a perfect breakfast. The good thing: if you freeze croissants, you don’t have to run to the bakery or mix the dough in the morning.

  • You don’t need to worry that the croissants will lose their flavor when they freeze. They also taste good thawed.
  • Simply place the croissants in a container suitable for freezing. Then put this in the freezer. This is how you extend the shelf life of French pastries.
  • If you bake croissants yourself, it is advisable to freeze them before baking. After shaping, let the dough rise for about half an hour. The pastry can then be placed in the freezer.
  • The evening before you want to eat the croissants, you should put them in the fridge from the freezer. In the morning you can then briefly bake the croissants.
