colorful cookie cutters, great for baking with children

First, mix the butter with the sugar, eggs, and lemon juice or zest. Then stir in the flour and baking powder. Now the motto is: knead, knead, knead. It’s best to use a mixer with a dough hook or a food processor for this. Alternatively, you can knead the dough by hand into a smooth, firm shortcrust pastry. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This will allow the cookie dough to set nicely. Make some space on the worktop and sprinkle it generously with flour. Take a good chunk of dough and roll it out with a rolling pin. Rub the rolling pin well with flour beforehand. Now it’s time to cut out the cookies; the children can help with this. Tip: Because you can use different shapes, you can make great themed cookies, for example for a child’s birthday. You just need the right cutters! Place the cut-out cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place in the oven and bake at 190 degrees Celsius for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then it’s time to decorate! Now let the kids get involved again. Take a few small bowls and fill them with various decorations. Hot favorites: chocolate coating, sugar sprinkles, colorful sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, mini Smarties, candy beads, chopped almonds, icing, and, of course, colorful icing. There are no limits to your creativity! After decorating, let the chocolate and icing harden.
