Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp clove(s), ground
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 125 g butter (soft)
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg(s)
  • 230 g applesauce, unsweetened
  • 150 g raisins
  • 75 g walnuts, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line two baking sheets with baking paper. Put the flour in a bowl and mix with the cinnamon powder, ginger powder, clove powder, salt and baking soda. Cream the softened butter with the two types of sugar. Add the vanilla extract and egg and mix until everything is well combined. Now stir in the applesauce and the flour mixture. Finally, fold in the raisins and walnuts. Using a tablespoon, place the dough in heaps on the prepared baking sheet. Leave enough space between them (5cm) so that the cookies will expand slightly. Then bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes. This depends on the size of the cookies. The bottoms should be golden brown. Don’t let them cook for too long or they will get too dark, otherwise they will just dry out. Remove from the baking sheet and let cool on a wire rack.
