Cream herring, pickled

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 points fish fillet(s) (herring fillets, 200 g each)
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 2 cups of cream, 200 g each
  • 4 onions
  • 150 g walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 juniper berries
  • 1 apple
  • possibly mayonnaise, 1 tbsp

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 day 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 20 minutes

Soak the herring fillets in water for at least 1 hour. Slice the onion into rings, peel the apple, and cut it into small cubes. Stir the sour cream and cream until smooth and combine with the remaining ingredients. After soaking, marinate the fish in the cream and sour cream mixture in a suitable container for at least 24 hours and refrigerate. Serve with boiled potatoes.
