- 1 vanilla pod(s)
- 200 g sugar
- 80 g cornstarch
- 8 egg yolks

Vanilla cream for cream slices, fruit tarts or as a topping for a sponge cake
Bring the milk to a boil with the vanilla pod, let it steep for a while, then strain. Combine the sugar, starch, and egg yolk and stir into the milk. Bring back to a boil, then stir until cold. It’s perfect for cream slices, fruit tarts, or as a topping for a sponge cake before adding strawberries, for example.
