Creamed savoy cabbage

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 savoy cabbage (leftover from the cabbage rolls)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tsp broth, granulated
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese spread
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • salt and pepper
  • chili flakes
  • Sauce thickener, lighter, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Excellent with cabbage rolls

Slice the onion into thin strips and finely chop the savoy cabbage. Sauté both in a little clarified butter, but do not brown. Dust with the broth granules and add about 1/2 cup water, and simmer for about 10 minutes. Now add the processed cheese, cream, and caraway seeds, and season with the spices. Thicken with a little sauce thickener only if absolutely necessary. The creamed savoy cabbage tastes delicious with the fried savoy cabbage rolls, which you can also find in my recipes. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Enjoy!
