Creamed spinach

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g spinach, young (frozen)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 25 g flour
  • 400 ml milk, low-fat
  • ½ tsp vegetable broth, instant
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 50 g crème fraîche

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Making it yourself is definitely tastier

Thaw the frozen spinach. Finely dice the onion and garlic. Brown the flour in butter in a saucepan for 2 minutes. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Set aside briefly. Pour in the cold milk all at once and whisk until smooth. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Season with vegetable stock, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add the spinach and simmer until creamy. Season again to taste. Finish with crème fraîche and serve.
