Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 500 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pack of lemon peel flavoring
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 cup of cream
- 3 tbsp oil
- frying fat
- Sugar, fine, for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours 50 minutes
Mix the dry ingredients well. Mix the lukewarm cream with the egg and oil and add to the dough. Knead everything thoroughly for about 5 minutes until you have a firm, smooth dough. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Roll out the dough and cut it into diamond shapes using a rolling pin. Place these on a floured baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes in the oven at about 50°C. Fry the dough diamonds in a deep fryer at 160°C, turning halfway through. Drain and immediately dust with sugar or roll in sugar.
