Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 mangoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 piece(s) ginger
  • 1 small chili pepper(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • Chives, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the mangoes. Grate firm mangoes until the pit appears, finely chop softer ones with a knife. Dice or slice the onion and sauté in oil until translucent. Finely chop the garlic and ginger or pound them in a mortar and pestle and add to the onions. Stir in the turmeric. Deseed and finely chop the chili pepper and add it to the onions. Add the mango flesh to the onion mixture and simmer for a few minutes. Squeeze the lemon juice and stir in. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh chives when serving.
