Crispy chicken wings in honey-orange marinade

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 2 oranges, squeezed
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp Vegeta
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg
  • 1 apple
  • 1 orange(s)
  • 2 rosemary sprigs

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Low carb, hangover breakfast, crispy

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Wash the wings and pat dry with kitchen paper. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. For the marinade, season the juice of the 2 oranges with mustard, nutmeg, honey, paprika, Vegeta, salt, and pepper. Brush the marinade onto the wings. Reduce the oven to 175°C and add the wings. Bake for about an hour. Brush with the marinade every 10-15 minutes. After 45 minutes of cooking, turn the chicken wings once to ensure the back of the wings also get some of the marinade. This will ensure they are nice and crispy on both sides. After 45 minutes, add small pieces of apple and orange, along with two sprigs of rosemary, for flavor. Serve with a chili cheese dip and spinach with cream and Parmesan cheese.
