Crispy Fried Shrimp alla Beach Club

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 10 shrimp(s), raw, peeled, with tail, approx. 20 cm, frozen
  • 1 liter of frying oil
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tsp sauce (spring roll sauce ala Sanur Beach, see appendix)
  • 2 bags of flour mix (Crispy Seasoning flour, total 140 g)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

A tempting appetizer or side dish. Recipe from Lombok, Indonesia.

Thaw the shrimp, rinse, and dry thoroughly with kitchen paper. If a gray line appears on the back, cut a 3 mm deep lengthwise down to the tail and remove the intestines. For dipping, combine the ingredients and divide them between two small bowls. Mix one packet of the seasoned flour mix with cold water according to the package instructions until smooth. Pour the other flour mix into a soup bowl. Heat the frying oil to 180°C. Coat the shrimp in the batter and roll them in the seasoned flour. Add them to the frying oil in pairs and fry until light brown. Divide between serving bowls, serve with the sambal, and enjoy.
