Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g butter
  • 225 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • possibly clove powder
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 200 g sugar, fine
  • 1 large egg(s)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large orange(s), untreated, zest

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

makes about 60 pieces

Soften the butter, then beat it with the sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and orange zest. Add the flour, spices, salt, and baking powder. Mix well. Roll the dough into about 3 long sausages, each about 3-4 cm in diameter. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to about 160°C (fan oven). Then cut the sausages into thin slices and place them on a baking tray. Please leave space between the individual cookies on the tray, as they will be slightly larger. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Let cool. You can vary the spices if you don’t like ginger, for example. Ground cloves also work very well and have a more Christmassy feel.
