Crème Brûlée – Homemade

The perfect crème brûlée – homemade recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 ml Cream
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 45 g Sugar
  • 2 Egg yolk
  • 1 mark Vanilla pod

The vanilla pod

  1. Halve the vanilla pod and divide lengthways in the middle, then scrape out the pulp with a wide knife or spoon. Put the pulp and sugar in a mortar and mix well.

Add the remaining ingredients

  1. Put the cream and milk in a bowl, add the vanilla sugar and mix well with a hand mixer or whisk. Now separate the egg yolks and add them to the rest of the ingredients, stirring constantly.

A little rest

  1. This mixture is now left to stand for at least half an hour. Then mix again briefly and ideally fill in crème brûlée bowls, but other vessels that are not too high can also be used if you don’t have the original bowls at hand.

Off in the oven

  1. The filled bowls are now placed on a deep baking sheet that is filled with boiling water. Our dessert is now baked in the oven at 150 ° C for 45 minutes.

Finished?!

  1. The cream should be firm after baking. Now just let it cool down a little and just before serving, sprinkle the cane sugar over it and caramelize it with a bunsen burner or gas burner.
