Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar cherry(s)
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar (Bourbon vanilla)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 500 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 1 pack of pudding powder (vanilla)
  • 4 croissants (200 g)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Drain the cherries and mix with the vanilla sugar. Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Mix the quark with the egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, and custard powder. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Cut the croissants into approximately 1.5 cm thick slices, place half of them in a baking dish, spread the quark mixture and cherries on top. Place the remaining croissant slices on top and press down lightly. Bake the casserole for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown. If necessary, cover with aluminum foil about halfway through the baking time to prevent the croissants from overbrowning. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
