Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 slices of baguette or ciabatta
  • 8 dates, dried and pitted, approx.
  • 10 walnut halves, approx.
  • 1 tsp olive oil, approx.
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar, approx.
  • 75 g goat’s cheese, approx.
  • 6 tsp maple syrup, approx.
  • n. B. Pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

quick to make, for 6 pieces

Briefly toast the walnut halves in a pan without fat and break into small pieces. Dice the dates and place them in a bowl with the walnuts. Add a good teaspoon each of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and mix everything well. Cut the bread into slices about the thickness of your thumb and toast under the broiler until the edges begin to brown slightly. Toast either under the broiler or simply in the toaster. Toasting in the toaster is also more energy-efficient and faster, especially for small amounts of bread. Spread the baguette slices with goat’s cheese, distribute the date and walnut mixture on top, and drizzle each with a teaspoon of maple syrup. If you like, you can grind a little pepper over the bread and toast it with liquid honey instead of maple syrup.
