Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 4 stalk(s) leeks
  • 1 tbsp, levelled sugar, brown sugar
  • 1 pack of rice cream (rice cream cuisine), approx. 250 g
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 bunch of chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

as a side dish

Remove any bad outer leaves from the leek, trimming off any bad parts of the upper green part and keeping the good parts. Cut the leek into slices about 4 mm thick. Place in a bowl, wash thoroughly once or twice, and drain in a sieve. Heat the olive oil in a pan or saucepan, not too hot. Add the leek and brown sugar and simmer for about 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the Rice Cuisine and a pinch of salt, mix, and bring to a boil. Cook with the lid closed and over low heat for about 10-12 minutes until al dente. Wash the chives and cut into fine rolls. Season the finished vegetables again with salt and pepper, and stir in the chives just before serving.
