Curry sauce for currywurst

Ingredients for 14 servings:

  • 1 gr. jar plum(s), pitted and sweetened (680 g)
  • 250 ml cola
  • 750 ml tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp, heaped curry powder
  • 1 tbsp, leveled cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Simmer the plums with the juice and cola in a saucepan over medium heat for about 40 minutes, being careful towards the end to prevent the mixture from burning. Remove the pan from the heat and purée thoroughly with a hand blender. Now add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. The sauce can also be frozen in portions in vacuum-sealed or freezer bags. Heat these bags in a water bath. Makes approximately 14 servings. One serving = 100 g. Per serving, approximately 68 kcal (15.4 g carbs / 0.1 g fat / 0.7 g protein).
