Curry spaetzle

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 300 g spaetzle
  • salt water
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 150 g ham (Katenschinken) or smoked bacon
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • lots of curry powder
  • some sweet paprika powder
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

My grandma has always done this and my kids and I love it

Boil salted water for the spaetzle and cook as usual. Strain and drain well. Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the onions and bacon, then add the spaetzle and mix well with the onions and bacon. Turn the heat up to high and fry until well combined. Finally, add the spices: plenty of curry, a little paprika, and a little salt, as the bacon is already quite salty. You can also fry extra eggs; it tastes delicious too—just try it!
